Caroline has always been interested in combining art with life, attending Life Drawing classes, evening classes and a part-time Art Foundation class whilst bringing up four young children. Once the children were at school she combined a Garden Design Course at Writtle Agricultural College with part-time work for the mosaic artist Anne Schwegmann-Fieding, who specialised in community projects. Working in schools, colleges, hospitals and public outside spaces gave an insight into the importance of including the community with the work and encouraging them to take ownership of each project.

Since 2009 Caroline has been attending the Colchester School of Art and Design, and graduated from a degree in 3D Art and Design in June 2012. The work for her degree included porcelain pieces with the addition of feathers, lace and bio resin.

After finishing her degree Caroline continued her own work alongside teaching ceramics in Primary and Secondary Schools as an Artist in Residence through a Crafts Council initiative.

Caroline now runs workshops for all ages and abilities at the Colchester Makerspace in Trinity Street, Colchester. With access to a kiln and equipment at this workshop Caroline is able to concentrate on her own work when not teaching ceramics to others.
